Professor Yih-Min Wu of the Department of Geosciences, National Taiwan University, has been awarded the Campaign Medal by the Personnel and Inspection Department of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to scientific collaboration between Taiwan and Vietnam, the advancement of earthquake science, and the development of earthquake monitoring and early warning technologies in Vietnam.

Professor Wu is internationally recognized for his research in seismology, seismic monitoring, and Earthquake Early Warning (EEW) systems. Over the years, he has established close collaborative partnerships with VAST and its research teams through joint research projects, academic exchanges, technology transfer, and researcher training. These collaborative efforts have contributed significantly to the enhancement of Vietnam's capabilities in earthquake monitoring and early warning while strengthening bilateral cooperation in geosciences and disaster mitigation.

As one of Vietnam's leading national research institutions, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology plays a central role in advancing research in the natural sciences, engineering, and applied technologies. The presentation of the Campaign Medal recognizes Professor Wu's long-standing contributions to scientific research and international collaboration and highlights the global impact of Taiwan's achievements in earthquake science and disaster prevention technologies.
